General View Human beings have an innate yearning to achieve tranquility of mind or peace of mind or inner peace. The myth is that tranquility of the mind is achievable by only yogis, monks who spend their time in ashrams and monasteries, praying and meditating most of the time. It may look like it is impossible to attain tranquility of the mind in this world that we live in and the culture we have embraced. No matter where you go people have the earphones plugged in, either listening to music or speaking to someone on the phone. It is difficult to be tranquil when we are surrounded by aggression and violence on the news, in movies and in games. The fact is that there are more positive events than negative, but negative gets attention because media, and we the public long for it; negativity thrives in creating sensation, and at times exaggerating. So how can one have inner peace?
As the very word suggests, “inner peace” is within you. The tendency is to look for it outside. One seeks temporary solutions by drinking, drugging, socializing with people who enjoy negativity, making money as a source of happiness. All, with the intention of seeking “Peace.” It is like chasing your own tail and never getting to it because you are looking for it outside yourself. The key is making time for you every day. One may ask “Are you kidding?” How can one carve out time of the busiest daily schedule, working may be two or three jobs, attending to home chores, taking children to their different activities, paying bills, taking care of different situations that pop out! The big question is, can you give yourself one minute every one hour, and then from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm you have at least15 minutes a day to yourself.
Peace and Happiness is an inside job. Look within; within is the source of life. All what that you look for or seek outside is within you. You need a paradigm shift. There is only one person who can help you. And that person is YOU. You have to find time and space for yourself, everything else is secondary. SO IF YOU WANT TO FIND THAT INNER PEACE IN EASY STEPS! COME TO TRANQUILITY OF MIND.
